Vasil Yasiuk

Biography

Vasil Yasiuk is an artist and Professor of Drawing at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. His works are represented in museums and collections in Belarus, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Russia, Vietnam, China, the United States and other countries. Born on September 6, 1955, in Zaborovye, Lepel District, Vitebsk Region. From 1972 to 1976 he studied at the A.K. Glebov Art College in Minsk. In 1983 he graduated with honors from the Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute. Since 1983 he has served as Associate Professor and Professor of Drawing. From 2005 to 2008 he was Director of the Minsk Art College. In 2008 he received the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus, in 2014 the Award of the European Artists Association, and in 2015 the Francysk Skaryna Medal. Since 2022 he has lived and worked in Penkun, Germany.
